Here is a list of resources that you may find helpful for checking answers, or working through problems. You can click on the italicized headings for a link directly to the resource.

Wolfram Alpha is a great website that can solve many algebraic equations. Its a good resource for verifying solutions if something can’t be found in the answer key of the workbook.

Desmos is a website with a very powerful and easy to use graphing calculator. It is a great way to check the accuracy of your sketches for graphing problems, and to better visualize what is happening in a problem.

The Organic Chemistry tutor is a YouTube account that makes videos on plenty of subjects (not just chesmitry). He is a great resource for any STEM class you take, but I specifcally have linked his Pre-Calculus playlist.

Professor Leonard is an amazing math teacher who uploads his lectures to YouTube. I personally used him as my main recourse to learn Calculus III, and would not have gotten an A without him. His teaching style is more similar to mine, so if you find my explanations helpful you may enjoy his content as well. I have linked his Pre-Calculus playlist.

Resources to be cautious of

Chegg

Aside from all of the academically questionable practices that Chegg engages in, it simply is a waste of your money. Paying a monthly fee for solutions that you can easily find elsewhere (in the textbook, by asking me, by asking a tutor, or by asking your professor to name a few) is boarding a scam. I can’t stop you from choosing what to do with your money, but I much rather be able to spend my $20 a month on a night out with friends than paying for a service that essentially already exists for free.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT can do many things, but at the end of the day all that it can do is predict the next word in a sequence (using clever mathematics). ChatGPT might be able to help you with easier questions, but it struggles with more complicated problems that require multiple steps and higher levels of reasoning. It’s not that ChatGPT can never be helpful or will never get problems correct, but you should always exercise caution when relying on a generative AI software to provide you with accurate information.
